How to Apply Distance Lines on a Shooting Range?

Turf _Tips, Product_Review
Many times we'll receive some interesting questions. Having served in the US military I really appreciate this particular inquiry.

"We support a marksmanship shooting range and need to provide distance lines down range. What do you suggest that is not aerosol and operated by range staff?" John, US Army

For paint application we would suggest the walk-behind 12-volt diaphragm pump technology model EZ-70 field marker. It will be fairly easy to operate and maintain by the marksmanship range staff. This item is normally shipped within 3-5 days of the order using UPS Ground service.

For bulk field marking paint we can offer at least two options to include a "ready to use" field marking paint. This product is formulated for immediate use from the 5-gallon pail, normally stirring the paint before use. You can dilute this paint but the lines will be less bright. By ordering 20 or more pails we can significantly reduce the shipping costs.

Another field marking paint option is our SwitchBack Ground Boss, which can be diluted up to 4 parts water to one part paint. Most customers dilute this 2 to 1. One 5-gallon pail of Ground Boss in the neighborhood of $100.00 delivered by FedEx Ground.

If you don't have ready access to water then I would choose the "ready to use" product. You still need clean water available to rinse the unit after use. A 5-gallon pail or two of clean water available is a quick and effective solution. The EZ-70 does come with a battery charger so you need access to a 110 outlet.

To apply a straight paint line we might also suggest using our Marking Whiskers solutions to quickly locate distances then pulling a string line using the Heavy Duty String Winder with 1000' of twine.
