Bryan asked for help with the following challenge.
"I represent .... Soccer Club, and I'd like to talk to someone about a chalk or paint lines solution for us. For some months out of the year, we share our home fields with a Polo Club, and they have their matches on Sundays. We'd like to use the fields on Saturdays, but lining the fields spooks the horses and they want to jump them, which disrupts the game. So, we're looking for a solution that will go down easily on grass, and will wash away after watering (or are easily removed in some other way). Do you have any products that might fit the bill?"
We have a couple different solutions for you to consider and a removal procedure that may help as well.
1) We have an
aerosol chalk solution that is applied like aerosol paint, but performs similar to powdered chalk. This comes in 12 can cases, each can is 20 ounces with 18 ounces of material and will cover approximately 200 linear feet per can. Once it dries it can be removed with foot traffic, brushing and water, and we would recommend mowing to remove some of the material as well.
2) The other solution is our
bulk liquid chalk, Switchback Double Play, diluted one to one, applied with an airless line striper. It comes in 5-gallon pails, and after dilution (produces 10 gallons), will cover 300 linear feet per diluted gallon (3000 linear feet/ 5-gallon pail). This product can be removed with foot traffic, brushing, and water, and it would help to mow the grass for line removal.
3) Also you could consider over marking the existing painted lines with a Turf Green field marking paint or turf colorant, e.g., our
aerosol paint or
bulk latex paint products.
